Your partner in water sampling and analysis
Innovative sampling and analytical methods for
easy, accurate, and cost-effective monitoring
of organic contaminants

Organic pollutants in water pose risks to ecosystems and human health. Monitoring of such contaminants is necessary to ensure water safety.

The quality of water analysis begins with the quality of the sample. Our technology of Ceramic Passive Sampler (CPS) ensures detection of every single organic pollutant.

The combination of passive sampling and advanced analytics enables wide-scale and long-term monitoring of organic contaminants for safer water without added cost.

Our technology
In a nutshell
From the user’s perspective, Ceramic Passive Sampler (CPS) is a compact cylindrical device (5 cm × 1 cm), which is placed in water for one month. Once retrieved, the device is sent to an analytical laboratory for analysis, which provides time-weighted average concentrations for a wide spectrum of contaminants.

How it works
CPS are ceramic cylinders with hierarchical porous structure, which enables diffusion of organic contaminants from outside into the cylinder with pre-determined diffusion rates. Tailored sorbent, placed inside the cylinder, ensures effective accumulation of target compounds over periods of up to one month. Upon retrieval, the contaminants accumulated on the adsorbent are extracted and analyzed using chromatographic and mass-spectrometric methods, delivering sub-ng/L detection and quantification of multiple contaminant groups from a single sample.

Scope
CPS are very versatile and can be used for analysis of a wide range of contaminants (e.g., pharmaceuticals, PFAS, pesticides, and more) in various types of water (potable, residual, fresh and sea water, groundwater, and more). This versatility is combined with the customizable design of CPS: their size, porosity, adsorbent composition, and installation methods can be tailored to meet specific conditions (e.g., variable exposure times, water flows, and levels of contamination).
